Gold Service
This is based on the Morpheus
set of statements of which there are 49. This means that you have
a response that matches directly each of the HSE's Management standards
statements (you will note that the HSE Indicator Tool does not
do this). Participants are asked to respond to our statements with
"strongly agree" to "strongly disagree" and unlike the HSE Indicator
Tool we do not offer a mid point, therefore people are forced to "jump
off the fence". This service offers a full set of demographic questions
to provide information that validates that the data are representative
of the organisation at large: this is very important if soundly
based management decisions are to be made.
In addition to the 49 HSE
Management Standard statements we include an overall self assessment
of each participant's stress level at work. This is based on a
scale of 1 to 10 and was devised by our Chartered Occupational
Psychologist.
The Gold service questionnaire
is also a major step ahead of the simpler Silver service and our
competitors. There is an assumption in the basic philosophy of
the simpler surveys that we believe is fundamentally flawed: it
runs like this.
The likely stressors in
an organisation have been researched extensively and set out in
the HSE Management Standard (correct).
If a series of statements
are constructed to which people respond suggest that good practice
is not being followed by the organisation these are indicators
of potential stressors (correct).
People are stressed if
they indicate that such potential stressors are present (incorrect
- this is an assumption).
For this reason our Gold
and Platinum services enable each participant to give us their
indication of whether each and every one of these potential stressors
is ACTUALLY causing them stress.
In short, poor practices
do not necessarily create stress nor do good practices necessarily
avoid stress and the only way to find out is to ask the direct
question.
The Gold service reporting
is flexible and includes graphical representations of all information
so that it can be easily assimilated and actioned by management.
